HOORAY!!!IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Spencer had his 4 month check on Friday. He now weighs 16lbs 31/4 oz. He is 25 inches long. The doctor said he looks great but may have allergies. Nothing we can do until he is at least 6 months old. He will just rattle until then! We have tried rice cereal and prunes so far. His lips have been smacking at both. Kylie had the honors of feeding him. She did great. She's a natural. Kylie had clean desk award at school. Her teacher said she is a great student.

Comfort

It's nice to have a friend that seems like family away from home that you can just call up and talk to for no particular reason and have nothing to say. It doesn't matter if it's 12 times a day or 1 time, that person doesn't even mind...it just makes sense to have a friend like that. Even if it's to talk about absolutely nothing, it feels comfortable. I like that kind of friendship...and I thank you.

Front Tooth

Kylie finally lost her front tooth. It has been loose for a long time. She has been working very hard on getting it out. She wanted to have it out in time for school pictures. Being that school pictures are on Wednesday, she got her wish. Congrats, Kylie for a job well done. I am proud of you! I love you, Baby Girl!!!
And, yes, those are pink and blue highlights in her hair...only for play...they are not real!!!

smile to my face

Today was a rough day of moving into the new office. Paul had to work from home because Spencer woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible, terrible whooping cough which made me think of croup. It sounded worse than Kylie has ever sounded with it. Paul took him to the doctor and by the time he got him there he sounded so much better. Now I feel like a fool. But he really did sound terrible. He didn't even look good. I guess he is going to be like Kylie and be very hard to distinguish if he is sick or not. I hope the doctor does not think I am crazy.

I got home from a very long day of work (which we will probably be working all weekend) and Kylie brought a smile to my face as usual. She immediately got her homework done and packed her lunch. She likes to do it herself (for now!). Then, this evening she started talking about Adam and Eve. She retold the story to me. It was so cute hearing her talk about the asp (she had to tell Paul what an asp is) and how they should not have listened to the asp. She is so animated when she tells her stories. She added into the story (which she has brought up before) about how she shouldn't watch Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents too much because they say the word STUPID. She begged me not to get mad at her for saying that word. She said, "Now Mommy please don't let me get in trouble for saying this word, but I am only saying it because I need to tell you what it is. PLEASE don't be mad but the word is 'stupid'." The entire time she is cringing as she is telling me this. Then she would go back to Adam and Eve and tell me how they were the first man and woman. She always brings a smile to my face. It has started to hit me how grown up she is becoming. She is just absorbing so much. It's awesome. Anyway, it made me feel good to come home and hear about her day and her stories.

Do I look like a grandma?

OK... so the other day I stop into Mindy's classroom just to say hello. That's all. I didn't want to interupt anything her class was doing. She very politely introduced me and of course, Spencer to her class, which I thought was very cool. Well this little girl blurts out, "Are you her Mama?" I thought she may have been mistaking Spencer for a girl so I said, "Well, I'm his Mama." She said, "No...hers," pointing to Mindy. I couldn't believe it. Well, when I glanced over at Mindy she happened to be grinning from ear to ear. And to add salt to the wound, she said, "Do you think she's my Mama?" The girl replied, "yep." Did she really find it necessary to ask that question again? I think not!!!! Well anyway, the situation was quite funny so I decided to take a poll on whether or not I look like Mindy's mother!!!! Please vote!!! I won't reveal the true ages but there is only a three year difference!!!!

The eyes have it

OK...Now I have seen it all. I am about to tell you something that has made me laugh all day long. Kim, a co-worker, told me she brought me something to try. Are you ready for this???? Rub-on eyeshadow!!!!! It was actually just like a rub on tattoo. It was on a plastic piece which resembled a cut out of eyeglasses. The eyeshadow was on this paper with three different shades. All I had to do was close my eye and rub it on my eyelid. Can you believe that? The kicker is that it actually worked!!!! It only took about 3 seconds to apply. I laughed and laughed about it. I laughed really hard...not to the point of peeing my pants like some of my weak bladdered friends....(I have a large bladder!)... but to the point that my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! This may be something that has been out for a while. I am not sure. It may be that I am just behind the times but this strikes me as hysterical!!! Christina, my other co-worker said they also have a press-on fingernail polish! Has anyone heard of these? The eyeshadow is an Avon product but I am not sure about the fingernail polish. Christina and I both tried the eyeshadow. We asked Dr. Wells if he'd like to try it but he declined. Bummer. Must not have been his shade! Just kidding. He was having a rough day and we thought we would try to cheer him up! Anyway, I thought this was very interesting. What will they think of next?

Hunk and Beauty

Today Kylie went to a birthday party at Kate's Skate for her friend Lucas. She had lots of fun. Her daddy actually got on some skates and stumbled...I mean skated around the rink. Actually he did a great job. I was afraid...very afraid to try it. Maybe I would have if no one else was in the place. Besides, someone had to watch over the baby, right? Anyway, Kylie had lots of fun at the party, especially since her Daddy took her around the rink. She didn't want to leave when it was over. But, because of me...the all of a sudden forgetful one... we had to leave because I (whom is always overly prepared) forgot the baby formula. I had anything else you could think of but not the formula. The poor child had to starve. Then we thought since we were going to Sam's to buy formula anyway we would just go straight there and feed him then. Well, they happened to be out of the kind we buy. What are the chances of that? So my poor baby had to starve even longer. I don't know what has gotten into me lately. I have been very forgetful all of a sudden. I even forgot Lucas's present and had to go back home and get it. I was going to write something else but I forgot what it was. Oh well, enjoy the pics!

The shirt says it all! Hee Hee.

Kylie's first day of first grade. Isn't she a beaut?

Pooped

How did I get so tired? Last night I was so tired I put both contacts in the same side of my case. Good thing my eyes are the same strength...or weakness, however you want to see it. Maybe it's because it was so hard to concentrate having a gigantic ZIT on my eyebrow! How do you get rid of those anyway? It makes my entire head hurt!!!

Sleepy Times

Adjusting to First Grade can be tough. Kylie was reading her book for homework. She was being silly by sitting in Spencer's carseat while she was reading but happened to fall asleep.

Isn't he sweet?

Poor wittle Spencerbug

Spencerbug is not feeling well today. I took him to the doctor and after 3 finger pokes and 1 arm poke we are at home. They are not quite sure yet what kind of virus he has but his temp has spiked to 102.2 and he is very congested and sad. Did I mention a red throat and an ear infection. As many know he never cries...but today was a nonstop cry in the office. He scored lots of attention! He weighed 15lbs 9 and 3/4 oz. Needless to say at least his appetite is still hardy as ever for my little 3 month old.
